The Liberation of Kuwait.
This impressionist double panelled art tapestry depicts the fires of the burning oil fields during the liberation of Kuwait during the Gulf War. The tapestry is made in a unique way out of finely hand pleated silk which is carefully painted and sculpted to form an unusual and dramatic work of fine art. Patricia was inspired to create this unique wall hanging by the television pictures of the blazing oil wells. This dramatic art piece is made up of two panels covering an area of 9 ft by 9 ft. This is a special celebration tapestry. Charles and Patricia will design and make an art tapestry wall hanging especially for you to commemorate your special occasion.
Art Tapestry Exhibitions.
The pleated silk tapestry hanging, along with a great variety of the Lester’s creative textile artwork, was shown at a special exhibition at Leighton House Museum in London entitled: ‘A Textile Experience’. The exhibition included inspirational photographs and textiles as well as a selection of costumes from the opera ‘Iris’ that they made for the Opera Holland Park production.
